The Taste is Ireland’s online Food & Drink Magazine and they recently published the Top 5 venues for Lunch, Dinner and a pint in Kilkenny. Ok, they recommend 5 Hotels too, but nothing beats a stay at Kenmur House! 🙂 There really is a great selection of venues that 24hours is just not enough time to pack them all in!! Some of our favourites were included in the list such as Campagne, Zuni and Rinuccinis. There’s also some new restaurants we can’t wait to try! To read the review please click here. Once you’ve finished drooling over all the amazing food in the pictures don’t forget to book into Kenmur House for your stay, we’re less than a 10mins walk from the city centre so that will surely burn off the dessert! 😉
There are some great cycling trails around Kilkenny which can be found from the Trail Kilkenny website. We tested out the East Kilkenny cycle trail which is a 64km cycle route, however leaving from the city (Kenmur house) it is an 80km round trip (it should be 90km but if you avoid one of the major hills outside Graiguenamanagh and take the shortcut to Inistioge it’s only 80km!!). It’s a beautiful route taking in the rolling countryside of Kilkenny. Having a cooked breakfast before you leave from Kenmur House sets you up for the few hours of pedalling! It was a glorious day when we did the trip and we stopped in Graiguenamanagh for some ice-cream and watch the barges go by. You can also take the cycle at a leisurely pace and stop in any of the towns/villages for coffee and lunch! We highly recommend the Trail Kilkenny website which gives you the opportunity to explore more of what Kilkenny county has to offer. So bring your bikes with you and contact us for availability!
As if you needed any more reasons to come to our Marble City! Kilkenny Tourism just launched a new TV advert showing why Kilkenny is the Perfect Holiday destination! Check it out below and remember for booking enquiries use the Contact us page.
